Black Beans with Lavender. Hot and sweet.
1 can of Black Beans 2 T dried lavender 1/3 cup molasses 3 garlic cloves 1 cup water 1 T dried hot peppers, to taste
Open the can, drain and wash the beans in a colander
Place in a pot on the stove top and add 1 cup plain water. Heat, adding the lavender (rub it between your hands), molasses, mashed garlic, and hot peppers.
Cook for an hour on low so the flavors really meld.
Cool, mash the beans with a pastry cutter or other blender, put in serving container.
Great on crackers, sandwich spread, on chicken, pork, frittata, etc.
